BRIDGEPORT, Texas – Round 2 of the 2021 AMA West Extreme Championship made its way to Bridgeport, Texas over the weekend for the RevLimiter Extreme Enduro, where FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart came away with a runner-up finish after a full day of intense battle in the dry and rocky terrain. Teammate Taylor Robert captured a top-10 finish in what proved to be a challenging day at the office for the three-time WORCS Champion.

The RevLimiter Extreme Enduro kicked off on Saturday with the Prologue, which sent riders out for one hot lap to seed their gate positions for Sunday’s racing. Hart battled through the hot lap to claim third aboard the KTM 300 XC-W TPI, carrying a front-row start position into Sunday. With a three-race format, the course presented different challenges for each section, including variation in length and duration of the motos In race one, Hart went head-to-head with multi-time race winner Cody Webb for nearly two hours, finishing three minutes behind in second. Race two was just under an hour but it was the same story as race one for Hart, who battled it out with Webb once again for the lead, finishing about 1.5 minutes back for second.

The third and final race of the day took place on a shorter course, with riders slated to complete as many laps as they could in one hour. Hart remained competitive for the win, where he fought in the second-place spot early on. He upped his pace on lap two to bring himself within striking distance of the leader and the two riders went head-to-head once again on the final lap, with Hart finishing one minute and 44 seconds back for second-place. After three solid motos, Hart took home second overall once again.

Hart: “I’m in the same predicament I was in last year, I went 2-2-2 here again. I’m not too happy about it but I’m going to change some stuff and hopefully come out swinging at the next round and get him back. This track had like three hill climbs, the rest was all rocks, and that’s Cody’s specialty. The next one should have a lot of hill climbs so I’m looking forward to it.”

For Robert, his pace was slightly off the front-runners as the multi-faceted offroad racer eases his way back into the more technical terrain in his first full season in the AMA Extreme Championship aboard the KTM 300 XC-W TPI. In race one, Robert charged his way through the pack from a second row start to earn a top-10 finish despite some mistakes that held him back early on. In the second race, Robert was able to get into his groove and make good progress, finishing ninth despite a few detours on the course. In the final race, Robert put forth his strongest performance of the day where he remained on the lead lap to secure a seventh-place finish. With a combined score of all three motos, Robert was able to score a top-10 overall finish.

Robert: “The race was honestly pretty rough for me. I got stuck on the hot lap, which set me up poorly for the rest of the weekend because I had to start on the second row and work my way through a bunch of people. I struggled a little bit, made some big mistakes and wasn’t able to ride as well as I wanted to but I definitely got better throughout the day. It was a really tough race but I learned a lot and had a good time so I’ll just keep working my way up at the next one.”
