2020 King of Motos:
Location: Johnson Valley, CA
Ron Commo endured the extreme conditions of the King of Motos last weekend finishing in 6th place overall. The event was made up of some of the gnarliest technical sections riddled with loose silt, rocks, and large boulders. Riders also had to use their GPS units to stay on course which added another degree of difficulty.
Beta USA Factory Teammate; Max Gerston had a DNF due to a fall early on in the event. Gerston didn’t sustain any serious injuries from the fall and will be ready for the RevLimter.
Ron Commo commented:
“King of Motos was a wild experience. First I want to thank everyone at Beta, Max Gerston and family for the help and support. I started off my day with an 8th in the Prologue. I had a decent start in the main event and was riding in 5th until I got lost and ended up going the wrong way for about 10 minutes. That cost me a ton of time, but I came in after the first lap and prepped the bike. On the second lap I was riding very conservative to save energy. I got lost one more time for about 10 mins again, but at the end of the lap I caught the 2 places in front of me.The toughest part of the race for me was using the GPS, which is something I’ve never done before, and the terrain was wild. I learned a ton and got some great confidence on my new Beta. I am really looking forward to the Revlimiter in March.”
