MARQUETTE, Mich. (September 10, 2018) – Despite half the east coast being drenched with rain this weekend, Marquette, Michigan stayed in the clear and boasted some top-notch course conditions for the Loose Moose National Enduro which served as round eight of the Kenda AMA National Enduro (NEPG) series. The KR4/Husqvarna team started the long haul to the Upper Peninsula a little early and hit some of the world-famous mountain bike trails for some last minute prep, but come Sunday, it was go time as both Cory Buttrick and Tayla Jones hit the start grid.

Buttrick started off the day inside the top-10 and continued a consistent pace throughout the remainder of the day, with his best finish of seventh coming in the second to last test. Buttrick’s consistency paid off as he ended the day sixth overall in Pro 1.

Jones faced some stiff competition with a fellow Aussie in the varying terrain. Jones kicked off the racing action taking the opening victory, followed by second place in the second test. Jones once again topped the charts in the Women’s Elite class in Test 3 before finished runner-up in the remaining two tests. Despite her best efforts, Jones settled for second place at the Loose Moose NEPG.
“I felt really good all day but a couple mishaps lost me a lot of time,” said Jones. “I’m happy with second though, and was able to wrap up the championship which was awesome!” This makes Jones a two-time Women’s Elite champion in the NEPG series.

The KR4/Husqvarna team is excited to head to Harpursville, New York this weekend for the inaugural Parts Unlimited Black Sky GNCC. After a three-month break, the entire team will return to GNCC action, with the following weekend serving as the next NEPG round.
