Red Bull Override Overview:
Location: Rocky Ridge Ranch, TX
The Red Bull Override’s first debut took place last weekend in Texas drawing extreme enduro racers from around the world. The event started around mid-day and lasted late into the night testing the conditioning and endurance of each rider. The course was laid out with a wide variety of technical and open terrain that included; narrow single track, creek crossings, slippery rocky hill climbs, and an endurocross section.
Beta Italy Factory rider; Benjamin Herrera made the journey from Chile to compete in the event and with the support of Beta USA he finished with a 2nd place podium. Beta USA Factory team rider; Max Gerston ended the weekend with a respectable 6th place.
Benjamin Herrera: “This was a very tough event that lasted over 6 hours. I paced myself the best I could while riding smart. I had a few issues towards the end of the race passing lappers, but all-in-all I had a good race. The suspension and tuning was excellent on the new 2020 Beta and the headlight worked amazing during the entire race. I’m very pleased with my results, and I’m happy to have competed in America again. Thank you to everyone that helped make it possible.”
Max Gerston: “The Red Bull Override event had a lot going for it! A unique event with harder sections added in throughout the 6 hour endurance race. Starting at 2pm and ending at 8pm, lights were mandatory for the second half of the race. I ended up 6th overall. I’m definitely not happy with my result as I felt I rode really well. On the bright side it was my first time on the new 300 RR and it was an absolutely amazing bike.”
