FOREST HILL, La. – KTM-mounted riders once again swept the overall podium at Round 3 of the 2019 AMA National Enduro Series in Forest Hill, Louisiana. With the Tely Energy Racing/KTM duo of Grant Baylor and Steward Baylor Jr. one and two, respectively, Team Gnarly Routes KTM-mounted rider Russell Bobbitt rounded out the all-orange podium at the Cajun Classic National Enduro.
Grant had a slow start to the day with a fifth-place in test one and second in test-two but the South Carolina native upped the pace in the final four tests as he topped the competition on the way to claiming his first overall victory of the season on the KTM 450 XC-F. Baylor, who missed the opening round due to injury, jumped into fifth in the overall standings after three rounds.
Grant Baylor: “The race started out a little slow for me. I think I was just a little nervous and overthinking everything so I ended up beating myself and making too many mistakes. We picked it up in the third test and I got into the overall after four tests. It’s awesome to be back up in the center of the box.”
Round two winner, Steward Baylor, maintained a consistent string of finishes throughout the day, securing five second-place finishes and one fourth-place aboard the KTM 450 XC-F. After three rounds, Steward continues to hold the lead in the championship standings.
Bobbitt, the round one winner, finished third overall for the day with another solid ride aboard his KTM 300 XC. He swept the first two tests of the day, rounding out the remaining tests with finishes inside the top four. With three podium finishes, Bobbitt sits only four points back in second-place in the overall championship standings.
